Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lumina Studies (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

The Service includes tools to track scripture reading, write and organize personal notes, optionally log daily habits (such as prayer and structured study or reflection), set personal goals, and view progress summaries (for example streaks and yearly activity views), including features aligned with Come, Follow Me and related study flows where offered. When you are signed in, your content and activity are stored on our systems as described in the Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an independent account on Lumina Studies. Users under 18 may only access the Service through a child account created by their parent or legal guardian within a family group.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Adult Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.

3.2 Child Accounts

Child accounts may only be created by a parent or legal guardian through the family group setup process. By creating a child account, you represent and warrant that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child and that you consent to the child's use of the Service in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Plans and Pricing

Lumina Studies offers the following subscription plans:

• Free Plan: Basic individual features at no cost
• Couple Plan: $5.99/month or $44.99/year for two members
• Family Plan: $12.99/month or $99.99/year for up to 10 family members

4.2 Billing

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis depending on your chosen plan. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred under your account.

4.3 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods, except as required by law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Share your account credentials with anyone outside your family group
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the Service
• Use the Service to distribute spam or unsolicited communications

6. Content and Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create on Lumina Studies, including notes, journal entries, optional labels or note types, reading progress records, habit check-ins, goals you set, and any text you enter. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, display, and share your content as necessary to operate the Service (for example, syncing your data to your account, rendering progress summaries, or sharing notes with your family group when you choose to).

You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of what you enter. Do not include sensitive personal data in notes or profile fields unless you accept the risk of it being stored and, where applicable, visible to family members you authorize.

6.2 Scripture Content

Lumina Studies does not host or display scripture text. We link to official scripture sources through the Gospel Library. All scripture content is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

6.3 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Lumina Studies and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

8.1 Service Availability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.

8.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumina Studies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through a prominent notice in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
